Summary

The MTSS Coordinator is responsible for establishing and implementing exemplary site and organizational PBIS programs within a multi-tiered system of support model. The ideal candidate will work collaboratively with Support Office and site leaders, staff, and students, have a deep commitment to social-emotional learning and student achievement, hold self and others to high expectations, and uphold Navigator culture at all times.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and support consistent MTSS and PBIS implementation at all sites
  • Ensure behavior expectations, instructional expectations, and reinforcements are in place at all sites and in all classrooms
  • Work to reduce Tier 3 and Special Education referrals through prevention and intervention
  • Act as a liaison between sites and Support Office in the area of MTSS and PBIS
  • Establish and foster community partnerships to support MTSS and PBIS implementation
  • Provide rigorous weekly coaching to school psychologists and Intervention Specialists, including scheduled and unscheduled observations
  • Implement carefully constructed feedback meetings that include clear action steps that will result in increased student growth and support
  • Train Navigator leadership and staff on new or updated MTSS and PBIS implementation expectations
  • Initiate video trainings made by and for students to teach expected behaviors
  • Build and diversify site MTSS and PBIS teams
  • Establish and implement staff recognition practices
  • Establish and implement practices to manage student conflict
  • Determine and analyze key data to identify the needs of students and programs
  • Create and utilize a rubric to aid in the analysis of needs
  • Track suspensions and major disciplinary situations over time
  • Implement triannual MTSS/PBIS survey to staff and students
  • Establish and improve MTSS/PBIS data collection and reporting abilities
  • Ensure PBIS trainings are implemented at each school site three times per year
  • Provide individual Tier 1 and Tier 2 PBIS coaching to teachers and coaches
  • Ensure school wide systems of support are implemented at each site
  • Collaborate with the PBIS team to build and implement Tier 2 behavioral supports
  • Collaborate with site counselors to build Tier 3 supports
  • Collaborate with the leadership team at each site to implement intensive data reviews
  • Meet weekly with site Vice Principals and Director of Student Services to review implementation and set goals

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree and valid School Psychologist Credential required
  • 3+ years of experience working with a diverse student population preferred
  • Knowledge and expertise in the area of MTSS and PBIS practices and implementation
  • Knowledge and expertise in the area of social emotional learning and trauma-informed practices
  • Bilingual Spanish a plus
