The Tier 3 Support Paraprofessional is responsible for working with teachers and students to help facilitate positive student behavior and learning in the classroom. The ideal candidate will work collaboratively with peers, teachers, and students, uphold Navigator school culture at all times, and create opportunities for all students to learn, regardless of differences.
Student Instruction and Intervention
- Provide direct support to Tier 3 students under the direction of the Director of Student Services, Principal, Teacher and/or Special Education Resource Specialist/Case Manager
- Implement behavioral and instructional methodologies to address the needs of students demonstrating learning or behavioral challenges
- Accommodate students’ specific needs through implementation of specialized learning activities and linguistically appropriate goals and objectives
- Provide behavioral and instructional support in a variety of settings, including general education classrooms and other settings as appropriate
Student Supervision & Support
- Supervise students in a variety of settings, including recess, field trips, classroom and/or lunchtime
- Assist in the preparation and modification of specialized instructional materials related to individual student needs
- Assist students with special needs as prescribed (proper training will be provided and may include assisting students with personal hygiene, restroom assistance, administering medications, providing behavioral modification techniques)
