Summary

Navigator is seeking dedicated, passionate Special Education service providers who are driven to impact the lives of traditionally underserved students. The Speech and Language Pathologist will uphold Navigator’s mission to serve all students by providing top quality specialized instruction and services for individuals with disorders in language, speech, and hearing.

Responsibilities

  • Provide direct, individual, or small group instruction to identified pupils on a regularly scheduled basis as required in Individual Education Plans (IEPs)
  • Screen, assess, and provide specialized speech and language services to students who qualify for services as established by State standards
  • Develop and implement IEPs for students who qualify for Designated Instructional Services (DIS)
  • Implement and monitor IEPs of students who qualify for DIS
  • Curriculum & CollaborationDevelop instructional materials and strategies for Special Education students in the general education classroom setting
  • Collaborate with other personnel working with Special Education students
  • Consult with school staff and parents in ensuring that Special Education students are served exceptionally well in our full inclusion model
  • School CultureDemonstrate knowledge of, and support, the Navigator Schools’ mission, vision, standards, policies, and procedures
  • Uphold the Navigator Schools Special Education motto of ‘Every Student by Name and Need’
  • Perform other duties as required and assigned

Qualifications

  • Masters Degree in Special Education and Valid California Clinical Rehabilitation Credential Required
  • Registration with the State of California Department of Consumer Affairs Board of Speech Pathology and Audiology; maintain current registration throughout employment
  • Knowledge of speech, language, hearing development, articulation disorders, and rehabilitation
  • 1-4 years of teaching experience working with a diverse student population preferred
  • Bilingual in Spanish a plus
