Summary

The Paraeducator Student Attendant at Montague within the Santa Clara Unified School District is responsible for providing individual services and support to a special education student according to their Individual Education Plan (IEP). Candidates must have a high school diploma and either have completed at least two years of higher education or be able to demonstrate knowledge and ability in assisting with instruction in reading, writing, and mathematics. Knowledge of principles and practices relating to Special Education and the ability to provide instructional assistance across various subject areas are required. Proficiency in English grammar, spelling, punctuation, and vocabulary, along with effective oral and written communication skills, is essential. Maintaining current CPR and First Aid certification is also required. The position is part-time, entailing 6 hours per day, 5 days per week, over a 10-month yearly schedule, with benefits that may include dental, vision, medical, paid holidays, and vacation. The work hours are from 8:00 am to 2:30 pm, with a salary range of $27.91 to $35.66 per hour, plus a 2.5% toileting increase to be renewed annually.

Qualifications

  • This position requires the candidate to have completed at least two years of study at an institution of higher education OR the ability to demonstrate, through a formal local academic assessment, knowledge of and the ability to assist in instructing reading, writing, and mathematics (or readiness in those subjects, as appropriate). Testing TBD.
