Plans and implements individualized lesson plans for children in the classroom. Creates daily classroom lesson plans in accordance with established curriculum and integrates parents into the educational program.

• Provides a healthy and safe physical environment for children
• Conducts parent/teacher conferences and home visits twice a year
• Records pertinent individual information about children and monitors classroom security
• Completes necessary paperwork on attendance reports and observations of children
• Implements CLASS and School Readiness measures
• Prepares and maintains necessary and mandated records including ongoing assessments and emergency cards
• Participates in a variety of staff and educational development activities

• California Child Development Teacher permit or higher
• CPR and First Aid certification
• Associate Degree in early childhood education, child development, or related field from an accredited institution
• Pathway for a BA/BS Degree: professional development plan for degree attainment
• Preferred: Bachelor or Master Degree in Early Childhood Education or related field
• Preferred but not required: At least two years’ experience in a classroom setting with young children
