The Pittsburg Unified School District is seeking a High School Physical Education Teacher for the 2025-2026 school year. The teacher will play a vital role in providing education to students in grades nine to twelve with a focus on physical education.

• Teach in field of subject matter training, expertise, or in other areas of assigned instructional responsibilities.
• Instruct pupils in citizenship, basic communication skills, and other elements of the course of study specified in state law.
• Provide planned learning experiences to motivate pupils.
• Develop lesson plans and instructional materials adapting the curriculum to the needs of each pupil.
• Establish and maintain standards of pupil behavior to achieve an effective learning atmosphere.
• Evaluate pupils’ academic and social growth, keep appropriate records, and communicate with parents.
• Identify pupil needs and cooperate with other staff members to assist pupils.
• Provide necessary display and interest material to promote an effective learning environment.
• Maintain professional competence through participation in inservice education activities.
• Select and requisition books and instructional supplies, maintaining required inventory records.
• Administer group standardized tests in accordance with district testing program.
• Participate in faculty committees and meetings to disseminate information and formulate school policies.
• Plan and coordinate the work of aides and paraprofessionals related to areas of responsibility.

• Valid appropriate California credential for Single Subject in Physical Education.
• Valid California EL Authorization.
• Valid CA Driver's License.
